Lyn and Maurice Beinat founded and run one of Australia's first green home retrofit businesses back in 2004. Green retrofit wasn't even known about back then. Their aim was, and continues to be, to create an ethical, high quality, trusted assessment and green retrofit service that provides a focused range of cost effective solutions.

Lyn and Maurice Beinat 'walk the talk'. In 2003 Maurice and Lyn needed to retrofit their own home. As it was impossible to find anyone with proven track record and sensible, effective solutions for their home, Maurice researched extensively to find, (or develop!) their own solutions. Lyn watched!
Their home's energy consumption has been reduced by a massive 85%; radically transforming its 'icebox' and 'heat chamber' tendencies - in a very affordable manner. That home is now so efficient it pays the family to live there, literally. It is wonderfully warm in winter and so cool in summer, that no air conditioning is ever required, even on 40+ degree days!
From a carbon viewpoint, their home used to produce almost double the national average of greenhouse gas emissions, it is now a zero emission home - permanently.
Not only that, their home is so efficient that it now pays them to live there (and yes, two teenagers live there, leaving on ALL the lights, leaving on the computer, leaving on the exhaust fan in the bathroom, bring home piles of dirty washing and standing for hours peering in the fridge and letting all the cold air out!)

Under Maurice's direction, ecoMaster's talented research and development team produce effective retrofit solutions. These include underfloor insulation, draught proofing, ceiling insulation as well as their own secondary glazing product, ecoGlaze which converts single glazed windows into double glazed windows for 1/2 or 1/3 of the cost of replacement double glazing. ecoMaster is all about the best quality solutions, installed perfectly.
