Proper installation means proper performance!
As the polyester we use has a 50 year durability warranty, the installation techniques we use ensures that they stay put for 50 years as well!
 |
Polyester:
 |
Where possible we have our polyester made in long rolls rather than batts. Less joins means less air infiltration and a warmer floor. |
 |
Each roll / batt is stapled into place between the joists at 100mm to 150mm intervals. This holds the roll / batt firmly against the floor ensuring you get the full benefit of the insulation material |
 |
No access for small fluffy creatures (mice, rats, possums). |
|
Thermo-Reflective Blanket:
 |
Firmly stapled (100mm to 150mm intervals) to the joists and the bearers. (Note: we do NOT use hand staplers - they are an electrocution risk) |
 |
Joins are lapped and taped with a very high bond strength aluminium tape. |
 |
Seal any open ends of joists (e.g. at verandahs) to ensure an air-tight finish. |
 |
We mark the blanket to show the location of any electrical or other wiring. |
Electrical safety:
 |
During your installation, your normal electrical supply is maintained to your home. |
 |
In the rare instances that an electrical wire is accidentally stapled, our equipment ensures the safety of our installers. |
 |
The tripping of a circuit breaker or safety switch immediately alerts us to the issue and the location of the problem is identified. |
 |
We immediately arrange for a licensed electrician to replace the defective wire at our cost. |
OH&S:
 |
We employ at least three fully trained staff to install your underfloor insulation. |
 |
OH&S regulations are observed at all times. All ecoMaster installations are Worksafe compliant.
ecoMaster is fully insured with $10m public liability. |
In short, we do not cut corners with our installation. It takes time and is incredibly thorough. We provide the most effective long term solution.
Here is what we don't do:
| - |
We do not staple through polyester into your floor. This would reduce the loft, and the effectiveness ,of the polyester. |
| - |
We do not depend upon 'friction fit' to hold batts in place for 50 years! Sad but true, gravity rules. What is not secured, will ultimately sag and fall down. |
| - |
We do not use strapping to secure batts. Strapping allows sagging and air infiltration reducing the insulative effectiveness and may allow access for rodents. |
| - |
We do not use chicken wire or ring lock fencing to secure batts. |
| - |
We do not use rigid insulation products. It is virtually impossible to create a still air layer. |
| - |
We do not spray foam under your floor. You may need to access your electrical wires at some point, and water spills in your home must be able to drain away and allow the floor boards to dry out. |
| - |
We do not turn off the power to your home. If an electrical wire is stapled whilst power is off, there is no indication of a stapled wire' problem which may not show up until the end of the job. At that time it is virtually impossible to tell where the problem lies. The reflective blanket may be electrically live - clearly this is highly undesirable. |
